Kristen Grunerud

Nurse Practitioner

Kristen is a Doctor of Nursing Practice and works as the nurse practitioner for Dr. Philippon's practice. She helps to coordinate patient care from intakes to clinical evaluation to post-operative care. She earned her first Bachelors of Science at Colorado State University and worked in cancer research before returning to school at the University of Nevada Las Vegas where she obtained both her Bachelors of Science in Nursing and her Doctor of Nursing Practice degrees. Her doctoral thesis centered on managing post-operative pain without using opioids.

Kristen is a Colorado native who grew up in Denver. She is excited to be back in the mountains after living and practicing in Las Vegas and southern California. In her free time she enjoys hiking, being on the rivers, rock climbing, and canyoneering with friends and family and her dog Birdie.
